Announcing

Create your own custom birth announcements that showcase your sense of style.   You can find supplies at a scrap-booking or high end paper store.  You can make them yourself or have them made for you.  Many scrap booking stores offer custom card services, which can come in handy if you need a large volume of announcements.

Supplies:

  • Envelopes

  • Simple cardstock

  • Decorative papers or velum paper

  • Ribbons

  • Hole punch

  • Computer printer

  • Photos of your new baby if desired

  • Glue stick

  • Optional:  scallop edge scissors

Pick an envelope in a size you like.  Cut cards to size with a paper cutter and fold.

You can add decorative papers, photos and ribbons.  Ribbons are threaded through punched holes.  The card in the photo uses a die cut ribbon with cute baby shapes as a border.

You can use your home computer to type and print the announcement inserts. We used a printed velum paper.  (For printed velum test one sheet to see which side of the velum takes the ink best.)  For a professional finish choose a specialty font such a script style font.
